We will be working with 5″ squares. Make sure you have a variety of light, medium and dark. Laurel will show you how to design with 1/2 square triangles.

Open Sewing With Laurel Wilber

Open Sewing Class with Laurel is a perfect opportunity to either begin sewing, or improve your skills.
The word “Open” means that the class is available to all ages and skill levels. The class is conveniently timed for different schedules, now being available three times a week and twice a day.

A list of some of the things you will be able to sew at these classes: quilts, clothing garments, pillows, bags, a home decor project, or things like artsy wall hanging pieces.
Any sewing project you want to take on, Laurel is ready to help you achieve the smart/easy ways to sew.

$15 at the class,

Lessons are available at these times:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Afternoon Sessions: 1 pm – 3 pm
and, Evening Sessions: 6 pm – 8 pm

So You Want To Sew, With Eddi

These classes are for great if you want to make your own clothing, and want to learn about the design industry.

These clothing construction classes are also good for anyone with some previous experience, but want to continue to expand on that.

We have seen both men and women of various ages come here, with a desire to start learning all about making their own clothing.
And with Fashion Designer Eddi Phillips, there is a wealth of knowledge from a teacher with experience in the Fashion industry, and good instructing techniques.

A Cape designed by Eddi

Eddi will show you how to construct and fit a commercial pattern to start out. Bring in your pattern or choose one of our vintage ones. You can order ‘Kwik Sew’ patterns through us, or buy them at the Auburn Sewing Center (Auburn Sewing Center – 850 Southbridge St., Auburn MA. 508 721 2449) (or purchase them online, if they are available). These patterns are easy to read and assemble, and make for a good starting point in the process of making your own clothing.

You can take this class any Monday:
10 am – 12 pm; Also 6 pm – 8 pm

* This class is on-going, and open to all who are interested.

Childrens Sewing Classes

Kids who want to learn all about sewing, can come to The Fabric Stash. With once a week lessons, from the experienced sewing/quilting guide – Laurel Wilber.

Their first project will be something like: A lunch bag; Or a tote bag; After that, they will decide what the next project should be… clothing, pillow or pillow cases, another bag or a quilt. Students are encouraged to learn about color choices and combinations that work well together too.

Children/Youth Sewing Classes happen at The Fabric Stash:
Thursdays: 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

* We set 8 as the beginner age due to safety and attention levels. We could set-up a lesson for you and the younger child to get a basic sewing practice started.

Knitting With Marie Jardine

Open Knitting

Our knitting instructor Marie Jardine can show you how to start knitting and how to build on skill and technique. She will encourage you to quickly acquire the basics for working with yarn and having fun.
